RTraction Motor Support Bearings (aka Locomotive Bearings) for replacement in diesel locomotives, require extremely high standards. New technologies and materials are consistently being introduced to improve performance under various working conditions. We, at Shahsons, are keeping pace with this dynamic situation by establishing an independant R&D driven manufacturing facility of bearings for locomotives. Our objective is to offer bearings of a consistent, high quality. It is this commitment to quality, that has allowed us to, have the national railways as our regular customer for the past two decades, and export our product to our esteemed Australian customers for the past few years, letting us win the EPB's(Export Promotion Bureau) annual trophies for highest exports in the catagory.

RThe durability and performance of Engine Bearings rests heavily on the manufacturing material to maintain an optimal balance between embeddability, corformability and load bearing strength.

At Shahsons, the bearing manufacturing process is a fully integrated operation, where bearings are manufactured on a range of specialized machining tools, most of which have been designed completely by our own engineering unit. Every step is assiduously controlled, starting with selecting the basic raw materials and following to the finished products.

RLike the bearings, the manufacturing of Bushes and Thrust Washers is a fully synchronized procedure, and the traditional Shahsons level of quality is impeccably maintained at every step of the way, resulting in a constantly increasing supply of our products in the local and international market.

Bushes are normally manufactured from sintered lead-bronze bi-metal strips, we also use (if required, by working conditions, or the clients) aluminum alloy bi-metal strips and casted lead-bronze bi-metal strips. The "metal surface finish" for all the products in this catagory is carefully controled for maximum surface uniformity, and prolonged scratch protection. A line-up of different Bushes in sets The thrust washers are manufactured, either from aluminum alloy bi-metal or sintered lead-bronze bi-metal strips.

RThe vital influence of Cylinder liners on engine performance requires them to be manufactured in a way that ensures maximum endurance, not only to high pressure and temperature, but also to the different violent mechanical frictions (e.g, startup friction, friction caused due to low quality or old motoroil, etc.) and chemical reactions (corrosion caused by chemical impurities brought in by air, fuel and/or motoroil) without any defacement.

Our production staff at Shahsons diligently abides by the optimum quality controle S.O.Ps (Standard Operating Procedures) for, checking base material, surface treatment, grinding and processing, in order to guarantee lasting durability of our liners.

RWe manufacture and supply various types of cast Iron Piston Rings applicable to automobile, marine, agricultural and locomotive engines and compressors for the domestic/international markets.

Ring castings are produced by an individual casting process followed by heat treatment, and finally machine-finished with state-of-the-art ring manufacturing tools and equipment.

Of the vast range of materials cast in our foundries, the most common are:

Regular grey iron

Spheroidal graphite iron
